THE IMPORTANT DETAILS

Terms of Service & Privacy.

Your photos, your rights and the rules for making a little pet-powered happiness.

Version 2026-10-03.2 · Updated

1. Using PetPop & your account

PetPop turns pet photos and your words into personalised greetings. The creation service is for adults aged 18 or over and personal use. By signing in or using PetPop, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them before submitting content. The privacy information explains how we use personal information; agreeing to the service terms is not consent to optional marketing or other optional data uses. Only use an account and email address you are entitled to use, and keep your sign-in links and sessions secure.

Sign-in options depend on which services are enabled. Different sign-in methods can create separate accounts even if the email address is the same.

Standard complimentary codes: each code can be claimed once, and each account and network IP address can claim only one standard code. A shared network may therefore prevent another member of the same household or organisation from claiming a code. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for the content you knowingly submit and the sharing you authorise. This does not make you responsible for unauthorised activity caused by a failure of our security.

2. Photos & acceptable use

Upload pet-only photos you took yourself or have permission to use for AI processing and sharing. Owning the pet does not necessarily give you the rights to a photographer’s picture. Do not include people, children, private documents, addresses or sensitive personal information. You also need rights to the words, lyrics and other material you submit.

  • No sexual images, nudity, pornography, child sexual abuse or exploitation material, or non-consensual intimate content, including synthetic versions.
  • No animal cruelty, graphic violence, encouragement of self-harm, threats, hateful abuse, harassment or material promoting terrorism.
  • No copyright or privacy infringement, defamatory claims, scams, impersonation, deceptive endorsements or misleading use of someone’s likeness or voice.
  • No spam, malware, unauthorised bulk access, evasion of restrictions or payment checks, or instructions designed to override AI safeguards or obtain secrets.
  • Do not strip preview watermarks to avoid purchasing a download, or remove origin labels to mislead others about AI-generated media.

Photo limits: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB, at least 512 pixels on each side, and at most 30 megapixels. Animated and unreadable files are rejected. We recommend a clear, well-lit view of the pet’s face. All of our gallery examples were created from photos on a mobile phone or shared from WhatsApp.

Photos, pet names and greetings undergo automated safety checks before generation. Required checks failing or being unavailable stop processing. These checks can miss problems or reject an acceptable submission; they do not certify legality, ownership or the safety of a generated result. A recognised animal in a photo does not prove that no person is also present.

3. Your content & our permission

You keep your existing rights in your uploads. You give PetPop a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, resize, adapt and transmit your content as needed to check it, create your requested card, provide support and deliver it to the people you choose. We may pass that limited permission to providers performing those tasks for us. This can involve overseas processing, as explained below.

This permission is limited to operating the requested service and necessary security or legal handling, for the applicable retention period. It does not give us ownership of your photo or permission to put it in advertising. The current PetPop application does not train its own AI models on uploads; external providers’ training and retention arrangements are a separate issue described in section 10.

You may use the downloads made available to you for your personal greetings, subject to these rules and other people’s rights. We do not promise exclusive ownership, copyright protection or clearance for commercial use of AI output. PetPop’s software, branding and sample assets remain subject to their existing rights.

4. AI results & sharing

AI may change your pet’s appearance, invent details, mispronounce words or produce imperfect singing, accents or mouth movements. Similar outputs may be produced for different people. Generation is not a guarantee of a particular creative result or of permission to use a third party’s work.

Even if you use the same photo, words and creative choices again, each AI generation may produce a different result. This variation is part of how AI creates videos, so we cannot guarantee an identical performance each time.

Review the whole video, including its sound and wording, before sharing. Do not share a result that is harmful, infringes rights or falsely suggests that a real person said or endorsed something. Make its AI origin clear where needed to avoid misleading people. PetPop does not endorse the messages users create.

Anyone with a valid card share link can view that card while access is available. A recipient can forward a link or keep a downloaded copy. Choose recipients carefully and check their details. We cannot recall copies held outside PetPop. Keep your own originals and any available downloads you want to retain; PetPop is not a permanent backup service.

Input safety checks do not amount to a guarantee that every generated video has been screened. Report unexpected or inappropriate output using the contact details below.

5. Payments, service limits & responsibility

Prices, what each purchase includes and delivery timing are shown before you confirm a purchase. Please check your selections, wording and any available preview before purchasing.

We do not offer change-of-mind refunds for digital content once supply has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement that your cancellation right ends, and we have provided the required confirmation.

If you believe your video has a fault or does not match what you purchased, email hello@petpop.cards with your order reference and a description of the problem. Please contact us within seven days where possible so we can investigate promptly.

We will review the video and your saved selections. Where the law allows, we will first correct the problem or provide a replacement at no extra charge. Refunds are not automatic and will be provided where required by law. This reporting request does not limit your statutory rights.

We must exercise reasonable care and skill and honour the description and commitments given for a purchase. If our breach or lack of reasonable care causes loss that was reasonably foreseeable, we remain responsible. A loss is foreseeable when it is an obvious consequence or was something both parties knew might happen when agreeing the service.

PetPop is provided for personal greetings. We do not undertake to support business operations or accept responsibility for business losses such as lost profit or missed commercial opportunities arising from using it for that purpose. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your unlawful uploads or sharing, or by alterations made outside the service, where our breach or fault did not contribute.

Provider outages and technical faults can interrupt generation. We will take reasonable steps to address problems; using an outside supplier does not remove responsibility we owe you for our service. Creative variability does not excuse supplying faulty or misdescribed paid content.

Rights that remain yours: these terms do not exclude responsibility for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability the law does not allow us to exclude. Your mandatory consumer remedies and data-protection rights, including any right to compensation, remain available.

6. Reporting problems & restricting access

Report harmful content, copyright or privacy concerns, or a mistaken rejection to hello@petpop.cards. Include a card reference or link, a brief explanation, and how we can contact you. For a rights complaint, explain which work or right is affected and whether you act for its owner. Do not attach prohibited images or unnecessary personal information.

We may review relevant content and records, restrict generation or sharing, remove content, or suspend access when reasonably needed to address a breach, suspected misuse, a security issue or a legal requirement. Repeated rejected uploads can trigger automatic temporary limits. You can ask us to review a decision; reviewing a rejection does not guarantee that generation will be permitted.

Where appropriate, we will explain the action and allow an opportunity to resolve the issue. Urgent safety or legal concerns may require action first or limit what we can disclose. A restriction does not automatically forfeit any refund or other right you have.

We may provide information to authorities or preserve relevant records where legally required or justified. A rejected image does not automatically lead to a police report. Suspected online child sexual abuse imagery can be reported to the Internet Watch Foundation; do not download, copy or forward it to make a report.

7. Information we collect

Serenitech Ltd decides how PetPop uses personal information and is its data controller for those purposes. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ, and our company number is 15149540. Our contact for data questions is hello@petpop.cards.

  • Account information: when account sign-in is used, your verified email address, its verification status, a provider account identifier and session records. Your chosen sign-in service supplies identity information. The app requests identity and email access, not access to your email messages or contacts.
  • Content: photos, generated media, pet names, greetings, customisation choices and feedback you submit or create. Pet photos may contain information identifying a person, for example on a collar tag or in the background.
  • Recipient information: any recipient details and delivery instructions previously supplied, and protected identifiers used for delivery limits and blocking. You share new card links through your own email or messaging app.
  • Service and payment records: creation times, orders, payment references, provider jobs, costs, errors, sharing settings and recorded play/download events. Card owners can see activity counts; these are not proof that a particular person watched a card.
  • Security records: account references, protected session identifiers, browser information, image or text fingerprints and moderation outcomes. A protected IP identifier is also used for abuse prevention. New standard complimentary-code claims require a verified network address; we retain a protected fingerprint to prevent another standard claim from that address, including through another account. These audit records omit raw IP addresses, session cookies, image files and original greeting text; the accepted content is stored separately with your generated content.
  • Support correspondence: information you send when asking for help, reporting content or exercising your rights.

Information comes from you, a sender who supplies recipient details, your chosen sign-in service, payment and generation providers, and your use of PetPop. Protected identifiers can still be personal data; they are not treated as anonymous simply because they are hashed.

8. Why we use your information

Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we use personal information for the following purposes and on the following lawful bases.

Your requested service
Account access, card creation and fulfilment, and related support: performance of a contract with you, or steps you request before entering one, where the use is necessary.
Safety & reliability
Proportionate moderation, fraud prevention, access controls, troubleshooting and handling complaints: legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable service, balanced against people’s rights.
Recipient details
Handling a sender’s delivery instructions and a recipient’s blocking preferences: legitimate interests of the sender, recipient and service, subject to necessity, reasonable expectations and an assessment. A recipient is not automatically party to the sender’s contract.
Required records
Meeting specific legal duties, including applicable accounting and lawful disclosure requirements: legal obligation. Necessary handling of legal claims may rely on legitimate interests.
Optional uses
Where consent is needed, such as for optional marketing or non-essential cookies, we ask separately. PetPop has no marketing subscription system.

Accepting service terms is not blanket consent to use personal data. You can decline to provide information, but we cannot create a card without its photo and wording or provide account access without the required sign-in information. Only supply recipient details for a greeting they would reasonably expect.

9. Storage & deletion

Approved media is held in private storage. Storage and hosting services process it on our behalf. The current configured media period is 90 days. Individual access dates depend on creation, reuse, purchase and any scheduled delivery.

Saved source photos
Up to five distinct reusable photos per account. A photo remains available for 90 days after upload or last reuse. You can remove it earlier in “My photos” once no active card needs it. Removal also deletes matching source copies from completed cards, but does not delete their finished videos or separately stored generation copies.
Unpurchased cards
Videos and previews expire 30 days after creation, including previews made with a complimentary code. A checkout in progress can extend this. My Videos and the card page show the scheduled deletion date and time. Access ends at that time, and the video files become eligible for deletion. An independently saved photo can remain in your photo library after its card expires.
Purchased cards
Available for at least 90 days after selection and purchase. A previously scheduled recipient delivery can extend the selected video’s expiry to 90 days after the scheduled date. Unselected videos and previews become eligible for cleanup 90 days after selection.
Other generation media
Expires 90 days after creation. Cleanup removes its source photos and generated files after expiry.
Temporary uploads
Rejected photos and temporary originals are deleted after processing. Interrupted uploads are removed by later cleanup activity; deletion can be delayed by downtime or errors.
Safety decisions
Image and text decision logs become eligible for deletion after 90 days and are cleaned up in batches during later checks. Text approvals expire after 24 hours. These decision logs do not contain the uploaded image or original wording.
Sessions & links
App sessions expire after seven days. Sign-in session records are removed on sign-out or during later session cleanup. Card sharing follows the card’s expiry; delivery-preference links expire after one year. Expiry does not by itself delete all associated database records.
Complimentary-code claims
We retain minimal protected account and IP fingerprints, a code reference and the claim date for as long as needed to enforce the one-claim restriction and handle related abuse or disputes. These records do not expire with the code and are not automatically removed by account or media deletion. They contain no readable IP address, photo or greeting. You can ask us to review their retention.
Other stored records
Account details, card text, any retained recipient details, payment references, feedback and some security/control records are not automatically erased by media cleanup. Retention depends on whether information is needed to provide your service, resolve support requests or disputes, prevent abuse or meet a specific legal duty. Minimal payment, donation, refund and tax evidence is kept separately from account and media deletion and excludes pet photos and greetings. Encrypted backup copies are retained for 30 days. You can request deletion by email.

Unused accounts

If you have not signed in or used your account for 12 consecutive months, we may delete content still stored in that account, including uploaded photos, generated videos, saved cards and their wording. Before deleting content because of inactivity, we will email your registered account address at least 30 days in advance, explaining what is due for deletion and when. Keep your account email address up to date.

Signing in during that notice period prevents deletion under this inactivity policy and starts a new 12-month inactivity period. You can also download any available videos you have paid watermark-free for and want to keep before the stated deletion date. Once content is deleted, we cannot guarantee that it can be recovered.

This policy does not extend the shorter storage periods above: individual photos, cards and videos may expire and be deleted sooner under their normal retention rules, without a separate inactivity warning. Inactivity deletion will not cut short an agreed paid storage period or remove content needed for a pending scheduled delivery. It does not automatically close your account or erase records that must be kept for a specific legal duty, claim or necessary security purpose.

Access expiry and physical deletion are separate. The app stops access at expiry. Cleanup then removes expired media in batches; deletion can be delayed by downtime or errors. Backup copies expire on their separate retention schedule.

For an account or content deletion request, email hello@petpop.cards. Removing a photo, signing out or clearing cookies does not erase every associated record. We will explain any information that needs to remain for a specific legal duty, claim or necessary security purpose and the applicable retention criteria. Provider-held copies and recipients’ own copies have separate lifecycles; we cannot promise instant erasure everywhere.

10. Providers & overseas processing

  • Safety-checking services: receive re-encoded photos for content-safety and animal checks, and submitted pet names and greetings for text-safety checks. Image metadata is stripped during preparation. Text checks can run when you check a price or request a preview, before generation.
  • AI generation services: receive approved photos, wording and instructions when you request generation. The chosen model and job reference are recorded. Provider retention and possible training uses depend on their applicable terms and settings.
  • Sign-in services: handle authentication. PetPop stores the limited account and session information described above. Sign-in providers also process their own technical and security information.
  • Payment processing: our payment service handles checkout and returns payment references and status. PetPop does not store full payment-card numbers.
  • Private storage and hosting: store and serve approved content and operate the application, with access controls for private media.
  • Email services: handle messages sent to hello@petpop.cards and service emails such as sign-in messages and account notices.

Authorised people operating PetPop may access information when needed for support, maintenance, moderation, security or a legal request. Cards are shared with people to whom you or a recipient provide the link. There is no public photo gallery. Your photos and videos are visible only to people with your unique link. If you share the link, we cannot stop those people from forwarding it or saving the content to their devices.

Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Contact us for information about processing countries, provider roles and applicable international transfer arrangements. We do not promise that all data remains in the UK.

Our video-generation services may retain generation data under their own arrangements. We do not promise that external providers immediately delete uploads or never use them for training. Do not submit confidential or sensitive material.

Contact hello@petpop.cards for information about the services that process your personal data and their privacy arrangements. We will provide recipient information where required by data-protection law. Using these services does not replace PetPop’s own responsibilities.

11. Cookies & security

The app uses necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure the sign-in process. Its session lasts up to seven days; a sign-in transaction cookie lasts up to 15 minutes. Sign-in and payment providers may set cookies on their own pages under their notices. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent sign-in or checkout.

The current PetPop app does not set advertising or optional analytics cookies. It records the operational activity described above. Signing in does not subscribe you to marketing.

Private storage, account access checks and encrypted sign-in session records help protect information. No system can guarantee that a security incident will never occur. This does not reduce our duty to use appropriate safeguards or to make any notifications required by data-protection law.

12. Your UK GDPR & EU GDPR rights

Where the relevant law applies, you may request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction of use or a portable copy. The availability of each right depends on the processing and its lawful basis. If we rely on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing without affecting what was lawfully done beforehand.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have an unconditional right to object to direct marketing. Contact hello@petpop.cards to exercise your rights.

We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. We will respond without undue delay, normally within one calendar month. If a lawful extension or exception applies, we will explain it. Requests are normally free. Deletion is not absolute: a specific legal duty or a necessary legal claim can justify retaining limited information.

Automated content checks and usage limits can refuse an upload or temporarily restrict a feature. They assess safety signals, animal recognition and patterns of use, and can make mistakes. You can contact us for a person to review a restriction or raise a concern about automated processing.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or the competent data-protection authority where you live in the EEA. You do not have to complete our complaints process before contacting a regulator. More information is available in the ICO’s guide to your rights.

13. Photo & privacy FAQ

Which photo will work best?

Use a sharp, well-lit pet-only photo with a clear face. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB, with at least 512 pixels on each side; 1024 or more is recommended. The maximum is 30 megapixels. Crop out people and identifying details before uploading.

Why was my photo or greeting rejected?

It may fail the file requirements, safety checks or animal-recognition check, or the checking service may be unavailable. Automated decisions can be mistaken. Try a clearer compliant photo or contact us with the error and card reference - include the full URL - via our Feedback form; do not submit a prohibited image or photos containing people. You can try removing people from the photo before submitting to continue.

Who can see my photos and videos?

Source photos are kept in private storage and shared with the providers needed to check and process them. Authorised operators may access them for the purposes above. Anyone given a valid card link can view its video, and recipients can forward it or save a copy.

When are my photos deleted?

Your reusable photo library currently uses a 90-day period after upload or last reuse. Use “My photos” to remove a photo earlier when no card is in progress. Finished videos and separately stored generation copies have their own expiry. Cleanup runs in batches; see section 9 for what is deleted and which records remain.

What happens if I stop using my account?

After 12 consecutive months without signing in or using your account, we may delete its remaining content. We will give at least 30 days’ email notice first. Sign in during that notice period to prevent inactivity deletion, or download any available photos or videos you want to keep. The normal, shorter photo and video expiry periods still apply. See unused accounts for details.

Can I request deletion of my account and data?

Yes. Email hello@petpop.cards from your account address if possible. We may need to verify your identity and will explain any lawful exceptions. Deleting a saved photo alone does not delete your account, card text, all provider copies or recipients’ downloads.

Will my photo be used for advertising or AI training?

The permission you give PetPop here does not cover advertising, and the current app does not train its own models. External AI services process your content and may retain it under their own arrangements. We cannot promise “never used for training” across all providers.

14. Contact, disputes & changes

For support, complaints, privacy requests or content reports, contact hello@petpop.cards. Include enough detail to locate the issue, without sending passwords, sign-in links, payment-card numbers or prohibited material.

We will try to resolve concerns fairly. These terms do not require private arbitration, stop you contacting a regulator or remove access to a court available under applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections in your country remain available.

We may update this page to reflect changes to the service or law and will identify the revision date. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they take effect where required. A later version will not retrospectively remove rights attached to an existing purchase. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions apply only so far as they can fairly and lawfully stand on their own.
