PetPop Cards began with a birthday surprise for a friend, I wondered if she would like her dachshunds, Lola and Talia, to sing Happy Birthday to her in a WhatsApp message. When we get to a certain age, we can buy want we want and need, so its a challenge to find something unique and personalised.

I asked her husband for some photos of the two dachshunds. When he didn't reply, I started wondering if he thought the idea was too kitsch - he had simply forgotten. When the photos arrived, I picked one where the dogs were looking at the camera and started experimenting.

After an expensive subscription (which I forgot to cancel), trying out several different AI models resulting in blurry videos, failed lip-sync attempts and way too many American accents, I finally created the perfect video of their two dogs singing Happy Birthday.

On the day, I sent it to her in a WhatsApp message. And she LOVED it! She shared it with friends, including their dog walker, who went on and showed it to even more people.

I wanted to make it affordable and easy for anyone to create a fun, personalised card featuring a beloved animal and share it.
